Twilio Is Crushing It: 150K Devs, 1.5M API Calls/Day, 500M Total Phone Calls, 20 New Countries

TwilioTwilio, the startup that lets developers incorporate cloud-based voice and messaging services directly into mobile and web apps used by startups like Uber and established companies like eBay and Hulu, today revealed some big numbers and a bigger footprint for its services as it continues to disrupt the carrier world with its API-based business model: its platform now has 150,000 developers making 1.5 million API calls per day, and is processing a total of 1 billion phone calls. And that is set to ramp up significantly because today Twilio also announced that it will be expanding into 20 more countries, with local numbers now available on every inhabited continent.
